Wills & Estate Planning in Maitland & The Hunter Valley
Plan your estate with Hills Solicitors in Maitland: tailored wills, testamentary trusts, powers of attorney and enduring guardianship documents for the Hunter.
Why get legal assistance?
A Solicitor can ensure your Will is legally binding and meets your specific needs and wishes. A Will gives you the peace of mind of knowing your loved ones will be looked after when you pass away. If you don’t have a Will, your estate will be distributed according to the laws of intestacy, which may not be what you would have wanted. A Solicitor can help you avoid any potential disputes between your beneficiaries by drafting a clear and concise Will.
Solicitors can also assist you with updating your Will after significant life events, such as a marriage, divorce or childbirth. It’s important to get legal assistance if your family circumstances change because you may wish to add or remove beneficiaries.

What to consider
When it comes to drafting a Will, there can be a lot of considerations to keep in mind, from naming an executor who carries out your wishes after you pass away, to deciding who receives your assets, which could include family members, friends, charities, and other organisations. In addition to these important questions, it’s also vital to account for your digital assets, such as your social media accounts, online banking passwords, and email accounts.
At Hills Solicitors, we understand that this can feel like a lot to take on, which is why we’re here to help guide you through every step of the process. With our assistance, you can feel confident that all of your wishes and assets will be accounted for and distributed appropriately, giving you the peace of mind that comes with knowing your loved ones are taken care of after you’re gone.

We have had a total of 3 offices since those early days in 1894, all of which are a 50m walk from our current office.
